Uncovering a treasure in a neglected sailboat

Several years ago (maybe 20? ouch that makes me feel old) I picked up a small 15 foot Coronado sailboat. We used it several times, and it ended up staying at my dads on a trailer. The effort to get it out into the water ended up being enough that use of it dwindled.

When I moved last (10 years ago now) I brought the boat up to my place, hoping that I would get out and use it more often if I had it closer at hand. Unfortunately that didn't happen either. Well my son is old enough that we can enjoy this together, and I have finally buckled down and committed to getting it in the water this season. We have friends that live on a lake and are considering letting it stay with them through the summer in the hopes that it gets more use.

Here is the story as it unfolds of getting the boat ready to go. It had been stored in my back yard on a trailer with a tarp over it for the last 10 years. Unfortunately the lifespan of the blue tarps is definitely short of 10 years, and the tarp had pretty much disintegrated this last winter season. The inside was covered with tree debris, and gunky water and fir needles.Today we went out and did an initial cleaning with a power washer. Here are some of the pictures...
