It's not what you leave to your kids, but what you don't leave them that counts

Back in February my father-in-law passed away. He had been ill for several years, having suffered a stroke 4 or 5 years ago. the last year or so, we had been very worried about him and his wife being able to take care of themselves.

Now that he is gone, we have spent last several months, with the consuming chore has been dealing with their house of nearly 20 years. The big push came in the summer. We needed to get the house sold in order to get funds to take care of my mother-in-law. We spent three weekends with garage sales. several loads to charities, and several more to the dump. The amount of stuff was amazing.

Two weeks ago, my wifes sister comes in and between her and 2 of her kids, they take much of the remaining stuff. fortunately she is has the mind of a pack rat, and took most of the useless stuff to take up space until her kids need to deal with it.

We have some good friends that came by for the last push on yard-work. The backyard jungle was hacked away by Jim. Scott took a turn on the roof with an leaf blower sucking up the moss and growth. Trissa, Hannah, Spencer, Linda and Mat all came by and helped on the final days.
Don't be a pack-rat -- (I am trying to learn from this experience)
